MLB news: Dodgers place 2 on DL, activate 2 more

     The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a flurry of moves, due to injuries. They've reinstated RHP Kenta Maeda (hamstring) and LHP Adam Liberatore (groin) from the 10 day DL, and have placed LHP Luis Avilan (triceps) on the 10 day DL, and CF Joc Pederson on the 7 day concussion DL.

           Maeda, 29, has a 5.08 ERA in 44.1 innings this year, striking out 44. He has a career 3.80 ERA with 223 K's in 220 innings over two seasons, both with the Dodgers. He's been out for two weeks.

            Liberatore, 30, has one strikeout in 1.1 innings this year, allowing one run (6.75 ERA). He has a career 3.79 ERA with 77 K's in 73.2 innings over three seasons with the Dodgers. Liberatore has also missed two weeks.

             Pederson, 25, has a .200 batting average, two homers and 11 RBIs in 105 ABs this year. He has a career .222 average, 53 homers, 133 RBIs and 10 steals in 1019 ABs over four seasons in L.A.

             Avilan, 27, has a 3.00 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 15 innings this year. He has a career 2.98 ERA with 193 strikeouts in 232.1 innings with the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.
