MLB news: Red Sox place Pedroia on DL, activate Panda

    The Boston Red Sox have placed 2B Dustin Pedroia on the 10 day DL (wrist), and have activated 3B Pablo "Panda" Sandoval from the 10 day DL.

      Pedroia, 33, has a .292 batting average, two homers, 21 RBIs and a steal in 171 ABs this year. He has a career .301 batting average, 135 homers, 683 RBIs and 135 steals in 5765 ABs, all for the Red Sox.

      Sandoval, 30, has a .213 average, three home runs and 10 RBIs in 61 ABs this year. He has a career batting average of .286 with 119 HRs and 519 RBIs in 3752 ABs for the Red Sox and San Francisco Giants
