MLB news: Royals place Duffy on DL

The Kansas City Royals have placed LHP Danny Duffy on the 10 day DL with an oblique strain. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Duffy, 28, has a 3.54 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 68.2 innings this year. He has a career ERA of 3.70 with 594 Ks in 691.2 innings, all for the Royals. He's been their ace this year since the passing of Yordano Ventura this offseason.

To replace Duffy, the Royals have recalled LHP Eric Skoglund from Omaha (AAA). Skoglund is ranked as their 3rd best prospect. The 24 year old has never played in the MLB. He has a career minor league ERA of 3.74 with 266 strikeouts 310.2 innings.
