MLB news: Walker placed on DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed RHP Taijuan Walker on the 10 day DL (blister), and activated LHP T.J. McFarland from the 10 day DL.

D-backs GM Mike Hazen told MLB.com that the injury wasn't serious. "I don't think it's going to be that long. This is something he's been dealing with for a few weeks now, and while it was making some progress start to start, it's still something he's been managing through."

Walker, 24, was acquired this offseason in a big trade that sent SS Jean Segura to Seattle. He has a 3.46 in 52 innings this year, striking out 46 batters. He has a career 4.09 ERA in 409 innings with 368 Ks for the D-backs and Mariners.

McFarland, 27, has a 1.35 ERA in 6.2 innings for the D-backs this year, striking out four. He has a career 4.17 ERA in 205 innings, with 129 Ks in his career for the D-backs and Baltimore Orioles.
