MLB news: Astros place McCullers on DL

It has happened again to the Houston Astros. Another one of their starters has hit the DL. This time, RHP Lance McCullers Jr. was placed on the 10-day DL with lower back discomfort.

McCullers, 23, is in the midst on a career season. He has a 2.58 ERA with 89 strikeouts in 76.2 innings. In his three year career, McCullers has a 3.05 ERA and 324 strikeouts in 283.1 innings, all for Houston.

McCullers is now the 4th Astros starter currently on the DL. In fact, it's the Astros top four starters in the DL. McCullers joins ace Dallas Keuchel, Collin McHugh and Charlie Morton. Also, another starter, Joe Musgrove was on the DL, but was activated when McCullers was placed on the DL.

Musgrove, 24, has a 4.89 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 53.1 innings this year. He has a career ERA of 4.45 with 98 strikeouts in 115.1 innings, all with the Astros.
