Stepan, 27, scored 55 points (17 goals and 38 assists) in 81 games in 2016-17. He has scored 360 points (128 goals and 232 assists) in 515 career NHL games, all for the Blueshirts. He's a two time 20 goal scorer, and has never scored less than 16 goals in a season.
Raanta, 28, played in a career high 30 games in 2016-17 while backing up Henrik Lundqvist, and had a .922 SV% and a 2.26 GAA. He has a career .912 SV% and a GAA of 2.41 in 94 games played, for the Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks.
DeAngelo, 21, made his NHL debut in 2016-17, scoring five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 39 games. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning 19th overall in 2014.
I think the Rangers win this trade. They clear up cap space for when they pursue free agent defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, and get a big prospect defenseman, and a very high draft pick. Sure, Stepan and Raanta are good, but so is the return.
