NHL news: Lack, Megna, DiDomenico on waivers

Today, three players went on waivers in the NHL, and honestly, we'll see why they are on waivers in a second. Those three players are the Calgary Flames' G Eddie Lack, Ottawa Senators' F Chris DiDomenico, and Anaheim Ducks' D Jaycob Megna.

Lack, the most surprising name on this list, makes his appearances less surprising with a single look at his stats. The goalie was traded from the Carolina Hurricanes along with Ryan Murphy for a prospect (Along with some picks going both ways) to be the Flames backup. But, that hasn't worked so far. The only goalie on the Flames roster currently is starter Mike Smith. Prospect Jon Gillies will most likely get the call.

Lack, 29, has a .813 SV% and a 5.29 GAA in four games for the Flames this year. In his NHL career for the Flames, Canes and Vancouver Canucks, Lack has a GAA of 2.60 and a SV% of .909 in 140 games.

DiDomenico was an extra forward for the Sens, but after they claimed forward Gabriel Dumont from the Tampa Bay Lightning, they needed to send someone down, or make a trade. Waiving DiDomenico was probably the right move, though he hasn't been so bad this year.

DiDomenico, 28, has three goals and three assists for six points in 12 games this year. In his NHL career, all for the Sens, DiDomenico has scored those three goals and assists for six points in 15 games.

Megna is also not a surprise to be on this list. The Ducks had nine defensemen before waiving Megna. That's too many. Megna is the least likely to be claimed out of the nine.

Megna, 24, has one point, an assist, in 11 games this year. In his NHL career, all for the Ducks, Megna has that one assist in 12 games.
