NHL trade review: Blues acquire Soshnikov

The St. Louis Blues have acquired F Nikita Soshnikov from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 4th round pick.

Soshnikov has been dealing with injuries for about all of 2017-18. He's just played in three games. Also, the Leafs have a very crowded forward core. To get a 4th out of him is a success.

For the Blues, they don't give up too much, and they get a forward who can be a solid depth player for them if he's healthy. It's pretty much a bet for them.

Soshnikov, 24, has no points in three games this season. In his NHL career, all in Toronto, Soshnikov has seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 70 games.
