How they were built: San Fransisco Giants



          The finale of the how they were built series is on a team that has had recent success, the Giants, but are currently a not very good team. This is how they were built.

          Catchers
Buster Posey
Posey was the 5th overall pick in 2008.
Erik Kratz
Kratz was acquired from the Brewers in March for CJ Hinojosa.

          Infielders
Brandon Belt
Belt was a 5th round pick in 2009.
Joe Panik
Panik was the 29th overall pick in 2011.
Brandon Crawford
Crawford was a 4th round pick in 2008.
Evan Longoria
Longoria was acquired in December 2017 from the Rays for Christian Arroyo, Denard Span, Matt Krook and Stephen Woods.
Yangervis Solarte
Solarte signed with the Giants in February.
Tyler Austin
Austin was acquired from the Twins earlier this year for Malique Ziegler.
Pablo Sandoval
Sandoval signed with the Giants in July 2017.

          Outfielders
Kevin Pillar
Pillar was acquired earlier this year from the Blue Jays for Alen Hanson, Derek Law and Juan De Paula.
Gerardo Parra
Parra signed with the Giants in February.
Steven Duggar
Duggar was a 6th round pick in 2015.

           Pitchers
Madison Bumgarner
Bumgarner was drafted 10th overall in 2007.
Dereck Rodriguez
Rodriguez signed as a minor league free agent in November 2017.
Jeff Samardzija
Samardzija signed a five year deal in December 2015.
Derek Holland
Holland signed with the Giants in February 2018.
Drew Pomeranz
Pomeranz was signed in January to a one year deal.
Travis Bergen
Bergen was picked from the Blue Jays in the 2018 Rule 5 draft
Trevor Gott
Gott was purchased from the Nationals in February.
Reyes Moronta
Moronta was signed as an amateur free agent in September 2010.
Nick Vincent
Vincent signed with the Giants in March.
Mark Melancon
Melancon signed a four year deal in December 2016.
Sam Dyson
Dyson was acquired from the Rangers in June 2017 for Hunter Cole.
Tony Watson
Watson signed a two year deal with an option for 2020 in February 2018.
Will Smith
Smith was acquired from the Brewers in August 2016 for Andrew Susac and Phil Bickford.

Cueto signed a seven year deal in December 2015.
